Home Is Where The Work Is!
A mothers work is never done. How many times have you heard this? I know I have heard it until I want to shove the person who says it out the window. We as mothers know how much work it is to raise a family, work outside the home, do laundry, cooking, cleaning and still have time for that bubble bath at the end of the day.
After a busy day of working 8-14 hours, depending on what and where you had to go to work, wouldn’t it be nice to just be able to relax. Think for a moment are you earning enough outside the home to compensate for everything else. If the answer is “yes”, then read no further. If the answer is “no”, then maybe you should consider some alternatives.
Maybe it is because of where I am in life, but I see so many couples struggling to make ends meet and still have time for their families, that I just want to help lessen the burden for some.
That is one of the reasons I do this blog, and one of the reasons I work at home. I want to show others that it is possible to earn a living from home doing something you enjoy.
It doesn’t matter if it a hobby turned into a business, an affiliate marketing career, or if you are selling other people products, it can and should be relaxing and rewarding. It should be something you enjoy, and can be done in between taking care of yourself and your family. It should not be a burden and above all it should help with the financial stability of your household.
The Fear Of Not Having Enough
It wasn’t that long ago where I was afraid to answer the phone, or open the mail, and if someone I didn’t know rang the doorbell, I panicked. The fear was always there that either my house, or my car was going to be repossessed. The utility collection guys were on a first name basis, and it was embarrassing.
The problem was that there was not enough money. My husband has a wonderful pension, and I was working full time at a good job. When I lost that job, things became tight, but not to a point where we should not have been able to pay our bills.
It was about this time that the economy started to slip, and everything became more expensive. We pay higher prices on food, gas, housing and you can only tighten your belt so far, before you are emancipated. I found finding a good paying job, or any job for that matter, was hopeless. The most I could earn was $8.00 an hour; I was earning $17.00 an hour. But I was willing to work for a low wage as long as I could find work. At $8.00 an hour, and you factor in your travel expenses, you clothing expenses, and taxes, you would be lucky to bring home $4.50 an hour. Was that worth my time and stress? The answer for me was no, mainly because it wouldn’t pay anything. That is when I started to think about working online.
Never Say Never…Not Just A Movie Title
Recently I met up with two of my college buddies who happen to live in the same area of Michigan. None of us are originally from Michigan, so this makes it special. Anyway, we went to lunch and were talking about how our lives have evolved in the last 40 years. It came as a surprise to us that we have followed pretty closely the same path in life.
It is no surprise given the era we were brought up where the major goal for a woman was to get married and have kids. The surprise was even though we all have college degrees in business, none of us used it until the children were grown. To further that we all run and are successful at our own home businesses.
We haven’t seen each other in more than 10 years, our lives outside of home and family run in different directions. So sitting there talking with these women I learned that we all share a goal, and that is to be happy and successful…in that order. Two out of the three of us are happily married. The third is finally finding her happiness through her business and is learning that happiness is not who you are with but who you are inside. My grandmother used to say that if you didn’t like yourself no one else will. I guess she was right.
Patience is Needed
The Internet business community is comprised of different people from different cultures, different educational levels, and different personalities. There will be some who think they are better than others, while others have no confidence whatsoever, but are willing to learn how the system works. It is important to remember that everyone who is successfully working online started at the bottom of the Internet “food” chain, and that the questions asked of you the experienced person may seem redundant and boring, but you need to treat each inquiry as a potential customer.
As an experienced Internet marketer, it is sometimes hard to remember to be patient and polite when answering inquiries. After all we have answered the same questions numerous times. I had one person ask me the same question at least five times within a week, they just didn’t understand the answer I was giving. So instead of brushing him off, as was my first inclination, I continued to communicate with him until he was able to understand the answer. Was the fault with him or on me for not giving the answer in a way he could understand in the first place?
Blog Writing
Do you know what the most difficult aspect of blogging is? It is coming up with new and unique content every day or every week. And yet there are thousands of sites on the Internet that offer free content. So why not use them!
If you are new to blogging, then by all means use these sites. They help with good quality content for both your blog and your website. However, be very careful not to plagiarize. If you are going to reprint the content verbatim then use the resource box at the end of the article, do not claim the article was your own. This will get you in a lot of trouble.
That being said, I also would like to point out that most of the articles I have read are repeats of other articles only in different words. So essentially you are rewriting the same article over and over. There might be a different spin on the subject, different wording, different conclusions, but the core of the articles are the same. No matter if it is about affiliate marketing, advertising, a certain program…the core of the article is to sell.
So how do you come up with unique articles for your blog if you don’t have experience? You pick a subject and read as many articles on that subject as you can handle, then you write your own article. Yes, you are giving the same old article your spin, the difference is because you read more than one article on the subject, you have been exposed to different viewpoints, and your spin will be different than everyone elses, making your article more unique.
