Working Online Means Flexibility
One of the hardest elements of working from home is staying focused, especially in the summer months.
There are so many distractions! The kids are home from school, the weather is wonderful (most of the time), and you just want to be doing something other than sitting in front of the computer. At least that is how I am.
I like making money; I like walking, fishing, working in my gardens, playing with the grandkids more. So staying on track and focused is a major issue with me as it is with so many others this time of the year. After all here in Michigan, USA we have a very short period of time when we can get out and enjoy the lakes, trails and sun.
So how do I get any work done? Well, from looking at this blog and the last time I posted it might seem that I don’t get a lot done. When in fact this is my busiest time of the year for sales. I have just shifted my focus from doing online work in the morning to the evening hours when the house is quiet. Of course, I don’t have small children running around who are not cooperating with bed time.
Through the years I have set up my businesses to run practically on their own, not completely as their is no such animal around. But I can leave them for a few days or even a week and not worry about loss of money. That is one true advantage of working online.
Working online means flexibility. You will never again miss your childs activities. Family vacations are now when you want to take them, not when you can get the time off work. It is watching your child take that first step, not having to be told by a child care provider about it.
Anyone can work online…you need a computer, a little time, and a lot of determination to make it work for you. Just don’t let it consume you to a point that you forget why it is you wanted to work from home in the first place!
