Paid Online Surveys

By | Nov 12, 2010

There are all types and sizes of surveys online and at some point while surfing on the Internet you will be asked to fill out a survey. If you have had good dealings with a company you will feel good about giving your opinions but after receiving several of these types of surveys the average consumer will become apathetic to the idea of surveys and ignore them completely.

Even though you might feel these surveys are intrusive and boring they are actually a valuable source of information for the companies involved. Since the majority of companies do not have direct contact with their customers the answers received on these surveys will provide a view of the customers thoughts, preferences, and their needs.

For example, when you shop for your weekly groceries what makes you choose one product over another? The manufacturers of the products you buy have access only to the distributors and the chain grocery stores. But you their real customer make the decision to purchase one product over another. The manufacturer needs to know why one product is chosen over another. The only way to find out the answer is through a survey.

A Market Research firm is hired by the manufacturer to find out what customers are thinking. The research firm submits a series of questions that are intended to get the answers to the core questions that the manufacturing firm has. The questions then go to a Survey making company whose job it is to get the answers to the questions. The marketing firm specifies the criteria such as geographical area, age, race, gender, and the questions that will fit their needs.
