The Rise Of Affiliate Marketing
In my lifelong study of people I have found when it comes to work and business there are different types of people. There are some people who sit and wish they had more, but do nothing to achieve it. There are those who work hard and struggle to make ends meet and still at the end of the day are no further ahead. There are those who hate their current situation of having that 9-5 job where they are overlooked and passed over repeatedly. Then there are the people who seem to glide through life with little or no resistance.
In my opinion these are the definitive reasons why more people than ever before are looking at affiliate marketing. Affiliate Marketing is just one of the many money making strategies that was first introduced as the Internet gained in popularity. The Internet provides us with the opportunity to view the world and interact with people without leaving the comfort of our chairs.
With the rise in Internet shopping it is fast becoming the largest source of merchant products at competitive pricing.
Affiliate Marketing is thriving as a result of the Internet’s growing popularity. Products on the Internet are able to get the necessary spotlight to sell extremely well. This is why affiliate marketing is a very lucrative business. If a product is intended to sell then the Internet is the best place to sell it. The merchant puts very little into the selling of the product. It is not like a brick and mortar business where you have to constantly watch your advertising budget, focus groups and so forth, the Internet has all a merchant needs to sell their products.
Online Marketing Strategies
When I began working online 10 years ago the company taught this method of online marketing. While most of it was very confusing to me at the time, having no previous experience with online marketing, over time I have learned that these 10 strategies do come into play more often then you would think. Each one used separately will produce results; together you will be able to build a substantial Internet Business.
The most common Internet marketing methods are these:
1. Doorway Pages and Search Engine Registration
2. Banner or Textual Ad Placement-Traffic Exchanges
3. Banner or Textual Ad Placement-Online Classifieds
4. Banner or Textual Ad Placement-Paid Placements
5. Building your own content rich website
6. Utilizing an Opt-In program
7. Hosting FFA Pages
8. Using Safelists, Announcement Lists, and Viral Marketing
9. Press Releases, Relationship Building, and Offline Promotion
10. The Latest New Technique
As I stated in my opening separately these would work but are best when used in conjunction with one another. Over the next several articles I will be explaining each one and the best way to use them to build your business.
Doorway Pages and Search Engine Registration
A “doorway page” is a Web page that is used to lead people to the targeted site. A good example of a “doorway page” is http://website.ws/nkraska. This page contains a link to the target page where you hope the customer takes action, such as signing up for the program, purchasing a product. A target page does the selling; a “doorway page” gets peoples attention and then leads them to the target page.

Thou Shall Not Spam
Couldn’t they have come up with another name for junk mail on the Internet? I mean Spam, that is a meat by-product that as far as I can figure out only older men seem to like.
I mean no insult to the Spam connisseur. I am sure it taste wonderful, if you like salty canned meat. I prefer my meat to look like meat and not all pressed together so it resembles a brick.
First off…meat is not supposed to come canned. To me and I am sure to thousand of others, this is not natural. Then there is the jell type substance that is in with the meat. What is that? Is it necessary to the canning process?
So why is internet junk mail called “spam”? And when someone speaks of it they almost have a combative tone to their voice or email. Thou Shalt Not Spam! They say it like it is the 11th commandment. I don’t remember anyone saying anything about Moses coming off the mountain with 11 commandments, or was I sleeping through Cathecism again?
So why not call it what it is “Junk Mail” “Unwanted Mail” anything is better than “Spam.”
And another thing, even though as an internet marketer I am not suppose to do “it”, I receive hundred of unsolicited emails in all 5 of my email accounts daily. I didn’t ask Joe Blow to send me information on Viagra, I am sure I would remember. So didn’t Joe spam me? That didn’t sound right, but I am sure you know what I mean…or if you want take it anyway you want…let your imagination flow.
Blog Writing
Do you know what the most difficult aspect of blogging is? It is coming up with new and unique content every day or every week. And yet there are thousands of sites on the Internet that offer free content. So why not use them!
If you are new to blogging, then by all means use these sites. They help with good quality content for both your blog and your website. However, be very careful not to plagiarize. If you are going to reprint the content verbatim then use the resource box at the end of the article, do not claim the article was your own. This will get you in a lot of trouble.
That being said, I also would like to point out that most of the articles I have read are repeats of other articles only in different words. So essentially you are rewriting the same article over and over. There might be a different spin on the subject, different wording, different conclusions, but the core of the articles are the same. No matter if it is about affiliate marketing, advertising, a certain program…the core of the article is to sell.
So how do you come up with unique articles for your blog if you don’t have experience? You pick a subject and read as many articles on that subject as you can handle, then you write your own article. Yes, you are giving the same old article your spin, the difference is because you read more than one article on the subject, you have been exposed to different viewpoints, and your spin will be different than everyone elses, making your article more unique.
